Dental Services
Good dental care is a major component of your pet’s overall health.
At Eastwood Veterinary Clinic, our professional dental cleanings remove the plaque and tartar that can lead to gum disease, tooth loss, and other health problems. We’ll safely clean and polish their teeth under anesthesia, do a full oral exam, and talk with you about keeping their mouth healthy at home. Regular dental care means fewer problems (and kisses that don’t make you want to turn away!).
Below are answers to some frequently asked questions about dentals.

Before your pet’s dental procedure can be scheduled, whether for a routine cleaning or something more complex, your pet will need to be seen by the doctor for an assessment / wellness exam and pre-anesthetic bloodwork. This is to make sure there aren’t any major concerns before your pet undergoes anesthesia. During this exam, our team can work with you on scheduling the dental procedure.
If you know your pet has already been seen by the doc within the last 6 months, we may be able to get you scheduled without seeing them again for a full exam. However, all pets will need pre-anesthesia bloodwork done within 30 days of the procedure.
If you have any questions or want to discuss this with a team member, give us a call or email info@eastwoodvetclinic.com.

The cost of a dental procedure is variable because it can depend on a number of factors like:
Number of extractions
Time under anesthesia
Radiographs required to get a full picture of your pets mouth (a Chihuahua, for instance, needs significantly less than a Great Dane).
Post-op medications required for recovery
All dental procedures will also require pre-op bloodwork.
If you know your pup has been seen at Eastwood in the last 6 months, give us a call or email info@eastwoodvetclinic.com and we can put together a general estimate for you. However, an estimate is best built with the doctor during the exam for a more accurate range of potential costs.
